Bordeaux Merignac Airport Parking
Bordeaux Airport is a well constructed and modern facility, offering passengers a wide range of amenities. Passengers and visitors traveling to the airport will find plenty of adequate parking spaces, arranged as short-term and long-term parking areas. The airport is closely situated to the city of Bordeaux, only 10 km or 6 miles away. It is actually situated in the town of Mérignac, and hence its second name of Bordeaux Mérignac Airport. It can be easily reached by road as it is located just off the ring road (A630) which surrounds Bordeaux. The main highways leading to airport from various areas in the region are the A10, A62 and A63. From the ring road, junctions 11A or 11B should be taken to reach the airport.
Bordeaux Airport has five parking areas. There are areas ideal for stopping for short periods of time to offload passengers and baggage, short-term parking ideal for a few hours, and longer-term parking, which can be used by those who will be away for many days. There are also plenty of reserved parking spaces for disabled passengers.
The Express Stopping Area
This area of parking is intended for the purpose of offloading passengers and baggage, and is situated right next to the terminal building. There are 125 parking spaces available in this area. The first 20 minutes of parking in the Express Stop area is for free, while 21 to 30 minutes is charged at €2.00. It is €3.00 for 31 minutes to one hour, and €4.50 for one to two hours of parking. An additional €5.00 is charged for every hour thereafter.
The P0 Parking Area
This is an indoor parking area, and it has 344 parking spaces. It is also located next to the terminal building. This area is intended for short-term parking, but passengers can make use of the special weekend offer, which is €28.00 for four days of parking. This offer is valid for parking from Friday (12:01 onwards) until no later than Monday evening, at 23:59. Otherwise the normal rates will apply, which are €4.00 for 31 minutes to one hour, €8.00 for one to three hours, €10.50 for three to twelve hours, €12.50 for twelve to eighteen hours, and €14.50 for eighteen to twenty-four hours. An extra €14.50 is charged for every twenty-four hours thereafter.
The P1 Parking Area
The P1 parking area is recommended for parking periods of less than three days. It has 1,610 spaces available, and is about 200m from the terminal building. The same special weekend offer that is available for the P0 parking area is offered for the P1 parking area. The usual rates for parking in this area are €3.00 for 31 minutes to one hour, €4.00 for one to two hours, €6.00 for two to three hours, €8.50 for three to twelve hours, €9.50 for twelve to eighteen hours, and €12.00 for eighteen to twenty-four hours of parking. An additional €12.00 is charged for each additional day of parking.
The P2 Parking Area
In this area there are 1,730 parking spaces available, and it is recommended for parking periods of between three days and five days. The P2 parking area is about 400m from the airport terminal. Charges for this parking area are €3.00 for one to two hours, €5.00 for two to three hours, €7.00 for three to twelve hours, and €12.00 for twelve to twenty-four hours. After one day of parking the parking fees are charged per day, at €24.00 for two days, €33.00 for three days, €40.00 for four days, €46.00 for five days, €52.00 for six days, and €58.00 for seven days. Each day thereafter is charged at an additional €10.00.
The P4 Parking Area
This parking area is for long-term parking of five days or more. There are 1,167 spaces available, and it is located near the freight area. A free shuttle bus connects this parking area to the airport terminal building, and travels every 15 minutes. The bus’ regular hours of operation are from 05:00 to 23:00, every day of the week, but for flight arrivals out of these hours, the shuttle bus is available. Special rates are applicable to this area of parking for individuals on charter flights departing from Bordeaux. The prices vary between low and high traffic seasons. The high season includes April, May, June, September and October. The Charter Coupon rates are €15.00 for 8 days (€25.00 – high season), €30.00 for nine to sixteen days (€50.00 – high season), and €45.00 for seventeen to twenty-four days (€75.00 for high season). Otherwise, the normal rates for the P4 parking area are €3.00 for one to two hours, €7.00 for two to three hours, €10.00 for three to twelve hours, €14.00 for twelve to eighteen hours, €26.00 for two days, €34.00 for three days, and €35.00 for four to eight days. An additional €25.00 is charged per week of parking thereafter.
Reserved parking spaces for disabled drivers can be found in all the parking areas. There are four spaces in the Express Stop area, three in Parking P0, twelve in the parking area of P1, ten spaces in P2, and five spaces in the long-term parking area of P4.
Parking charges can be paid at the yellow automatic payment points or at the manual payment point in Terminal A (Arrivals level). Payment can also be made by bank card when leaving the parking area.
Although the airport accepts no responsibility for losses or damages that occur within the parking lots, passengers will find the facilities perfectly adequate and reasonably safe. The car parks are not guarded, but they are under surveillance. Information desks are located in both Hall A and Hall B of the terminal for further enquiries.
