Auto Europa Car Rental at Lourdes Tarbes Airport
Lourdes Airport is found at the small town of Ossun, in southern France, and about halfway between the two larger cities of Lourdes and Tarbes. The airport is also in the Hautes-Pyrenees department of the country, and is an important gateway during the colder months when winter sporting activities such as skiing are popular pastimes. It is also commonly referred to as the Tarbes-Lourdes-Pyrenees Airport, due to its location, and has the official airport code of LDE. Bus services and taxis are available for the transport of arriving passengers, but a rented car is considered to be the best way to travel between all the wonderful attractions of the area. Auto Europa Lourdes Airport is a car hire company available, and passengers often arrange a car from Auto Europa because their prices are reasonable.
Lourdes Airport handles only around 400,000 passengers every year, and is therefore one of the smaller of the France airports. Its terminal is quite easy to navigation, with arrival procedures on the ground floor and departure facilities on the upper level. The Lourdes Airport car rental companies are found just across from the arrival hall, and the rented cars are located in the nearby airport car parking lot. Auto Europa is open at convenient times for the arrival flights of the airport. Arriving passengers will find the airport to be efficient, modern and with adequate facilities, and the car hire services easy to arrange. However, although cars can be organised directly over the rental counters, it is better to make an advanced reservation, as early bookings often have cheaper rental rates. It is also best to know that your ideal car will be available upon your arrival.
Smaller vehicles for hire are those such as the Renault Twingo, Renault Clio and Volkswagen Golf, and from Auto Europa, these cars are found in the Economy and Compact categories. Although wonderful cars, they are perhaps lacking in space for luggage, and families tend to rent from a category which contains more spacious vehicles. Try to compromise between a low rental rate and a vehicle with sufficient room for passengers and luggage, as a ‘too small’ car may not be very comfortable. Midsize and Fullsize cars are available from Auto Europa at Lourdes Airport, and they may be similar to the Audi A3, Renault Laguna and the Audi A4. They seat up to five passengers, and have room for a couple of luggage items. Be careful to find out which type of fuel your rented car will use, as vehicles such as the Renault Clio operate on diesel.
Auto Europa offers a wide choice of vehicles, as well as a choice of rental rates, as their customers can select a basic or all-inclusive price for the majority of vehicles hired. The basic rate covers fire and third party liability insurance, as well as VAT, while the all-inclusive rate covers optional insurances such as collision damage waiver and theft protection. Not included in the price, are surcharges for rentals commencing at airport locations and any road tax/registration fees which need to be paid locally, however, vehicle prices do include unlimited mileage. Auto Europa’s cars are only of the latest models, and are considered by their drivers to be in excellent mechanical condition.
The Lourdes Airport car hire companies offer several items of optional equipment that can be hired along with their vehicles. These could include a satellite navigation system, useful for all who are unfamiliar with the Hautes-Pyrenees region and beyond, a child seat or luggage racks. Since that skiing is a popular part of the attractions in the area, ski-equipped vehicles may also be available. For disabled drivers with a lower limb deficiency, Auto Europa hand controls can be requested from Lourdes Airport. Hand controls are a device which assist in the operation of the main functions of the vehicle (brakes and accelerator), and may include a steering wheel knob. All equipment required should be booked as early as possible, especially hand controls, as they will need some time to be fitted to the correct vehicle.
From Lourdes Airport, many wonderful towns and cities can easily be reached on the country’s excellent road network. Towards the western coastline, Pau can be reached in just half an hour along the A64, and at the coast nearby are the cities of Bayonne, Biarritz and Anglet, which are the last of the major seaside resorts of the country before the Spanish border. To the north, the A65 can be followed to Bordeaux, and to the east, are the cities of Toulouse, Carcassonne, Narbonne, Beziers and Montpellier. The A64 leads to Toulouse, and the A61 continues to the coast. Each of these cities have their own appealing attractions, and are worthy of exploration. Most also have their own airports, and passengers leaving from a different airport location can arrange an Auto Europa one way hire, and leave their rental car where its more convenient than Lourdes Airport. One way hires may require an advanced reservation, and their cost should be confirmed with Auto Europa.
Auto Europa customers will need to comply with the company’s rental terms and conditions, and meet all minimum or maximum age requirements set for the rental location. A valid drivers license will be required, held for at least a year in the driver’s country of residence, and sometimes an International Driver Permit is needed as well. The primary renter will pay for the vehicle with a major credit card, such as American Express, Diners Club, Mastercard/Eurocard and Visa.
