Sixt Car Rental at Nice Airport

Nice Airport is found approximately 7km, or 4 miles from the city of Nice, and is a popular arrival point for both business and leisure passengers. It is actually the third largest airport in France, with around ten million passengers per year. The airport is known as the Nice Côte d’Azur Airport, and is international, and served by a variety of airline companies, such as Air France, British Airways, Easyjet and Norwegian Air Shuttle. The transport options of the airport include by bus and taxi, as well as by rented car, from one of the Nice Airport car rental companies, such as Sixt. The parking area of the rented cars at Terminal 2 is behind the P5 parking lot, and can be accessed by footpath from the terminal. Rented cars are returned to the same location as from where they were collected, and returns from Sixt are possible twenty-four hours a day, even though their offices at the airport close at midnight. In the mornings, seven days a week, Sixt is available for reservations and vehicle collections from 07:30.

Sixt Nice Airport offers many innovative services in order to simplify the car rental process for their customers, especially for those who are holders of the Sixt Express Card. This card allows customers to use the Sixt Quick-Check-In terminals at the Sixt Service Centre, provided that they have an existing reservation, and they will therefore not need to stand in queues at the rental counters. Customers will simply insert their Sixt Express Card or credit card into the terminal to access their reservation, select their vehicle and print their rental agreement. The keys to the vehicle will be in the safe. Sixt Express customers also have access to the Sixt Mobile-Check-In services and the Sixt Online-Check-In services. There are a couple of types of Cards as well, for example, the Sixt Ladies card and the Sixt Gold Card, which has even greater benefits for more frequent renters.

The Nice Airport car hire companies offer their customers a wide choice of additional services as well, and extra items of equipment for hire. These items could include a satellite navigation system, child seats or even hand controls for disabled drivers. Sixt hand controls are useful for those with a lower limb deficiency, and available free of charge, however, from Nice Airport, hand controls should be reserved in advance, as they are only fitted to certain types of vehicles with an automatic transmission. Other items of equipment will cost a few extra Euros per day of hire.

In order to hire a vehicle from Sixt, primary renters will need to be at least 21, 23 or 25 years of age, and have held a valid drivers license in their country of residence for a certain number of years. The license should also be printed in English, otherwise, an International Driving Permit will be required. This document is used for translation purposes only, and is not a valid drivers license on its own. The local license should therefore always accompany the IDP document. The primary renter will also need  major credit card in his/her name in order to pay for the rental, as debit cards are generally not accepted.
