Avis Car Rental at Paris Orly Airport

Paris Orly Airport is a large airport serving the city of Paris, in France, and handles over 25 million passengers per annum. The airport is located just 13km from central Paris, and is found in the Essonne and Val-de-Marne departments. It also covers a large area that includes seven communes, of which one is Orly, from where the name of the airport originates. Previously, the airport was known as the Villeneuve-Orly Airport, but is now simply the Paris Orly Airport. Passengers have many options for transport, including a rented car from Avis Paris Orly Airport. Many of the car hire companies at Orly Airport are found in both terminals. There is the Orly South Terminal and the Orly West Terminal, and they are located at some distance apart. Although a pathway is available between the terminals, and passengers could easily make the five minute walk, the airport is served by the Orlyval, which is an automated light rail system free to use by all passengers. It runs between the terminals, as well as to the nearby Gare d’Antony, for railway connections. It is important for the primary renter to arrange adequate insurance for the rented car, for example, collision damage waiver and theft protection. Sometimes the credit card company of the customer will provide insurance; otherwise, insurance can be purchased from Avis. The Paris Orly Airport car hire companies mostly offer services such as one way hires, and from Avis, all vehicles are permitted to be driven to any destination within France, or even into other countries, such as Spain and Italy. However, Avis one way hires may not be driven across borders into Greece, Turkey, Eastern Europe, Commonwealth of Independent States and Baltic States. Vehicles may be taken to the United Kingdom, provided that they are returned to the mainland, but may also not be driven into the Republic of Ireland. From Paris Orly Airport, one way hires should be confirmed with Avis, and may have additional costs if the return location is in a different country to the pick-up location.

Services from Avis may also include the rental of additional items of equipment, such as car seats, luggage racks and satellite navigation systems, and hand controls for disabled drivers. The smaller cars are found in the Subcompact, Economy and Compact categories at Avis, and are similar to the Renault Twingo, Opel Corsa, Citroen C3 and Peugeot 308. Although smaller car models, they do seat between four and five passengers, and most come with air conditioning. They are also three or five door vehicles. Larger vehicles can be hired from the Intermediate category at Avis, for example, the Citroen Grand Picasso C4, while Vans include the Opel Zafira and Renault Espace for seven passengers, and the Renault Traffic Combi for up to nine people. Alternative car groups from Avis include Economy Elite, Standard, Premium and Luxury.
