National Car Rental at Strasbourg Airport

Strasbourg Airport is found in the Alsace region of France, approximately 10km west of the city centre of Strasbourg. The airport is known as the Aeroport de Strasbourg, and is recognised by the IATA code of SXB. Over a million passengers currently pass through the airport every year, and it has a well equipped terminal building with areas for arrivals and departures. National is a car rental firm established in 1947, and are a premium, internationally recognised brand serving the needs of business travellers, mainly at airport locations, but they have downtown offices as well. The company’s headquarters are located in St. Louis. In the 1970’s National helped to pioneer the corporate account business, and in 1987, introduced the industry’s first comprehensive frequent-renter program, by the name of Emerald Club. This is a membership available to customers who more frequently hire vehicles from any of National’s rental branches, and is beneficial in regards to saving time and money. Emerald Club members enjoy convenient e-receipts and have the option of ‘Car Choice’, which allows them to quickly choose their vehicle without any lengthy paperwork to complete.

Car rental companies, including National, offer vehicles in a wide range of categories, and cars that are suitable for every occasion. Groups of travellers can hire Vans from National as well, similar to the Citroen Grand Picasso C4 2.0 and Citroen C8 for seven and the Citroen Jumpy 2.2 for eight. National one way hires can be arranged for the majority of vehicles hired, and are when the car is returned to a location other than the one from where it was collected, i.e. Strasbourg Airport. One way hires can be a convenient option, but are often more expensive. National also offers services for disabled customers, such as the rental of hand control equipment and the possibility of a free additional driver when the primary renter is a person unable to drive due to disability. National hand controls are free of charge, but they will require an advanced reservation, at least forty-eight hours prior to the collection of the vehicle.

Passengers hiring a car should be 21 years of age or older, and should have been driving with a license in their home country for at least a year prior to the rental date. A major credit card will also be required for payment of the vehicle.
